Attwell, Espino, Nava of Rehab. Sciences present papers in CHRMS forum

Consistent with the University’s theme “Thomasian Research Excellence and Engagements”, the Center for Health Research and Movement Science held a Research Forum entitled, “Moving toward Research Excellence” on February 15, 2017 from 1-5 PM at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex (TARC) Auditorium.

The faculty presenters for the forum included the following: (1) Ms. Stephanie Ann Balid-Attwell, MA ClinPsych, PhD (Cand) for her research entitled, “Crossing borders, transcending cultural differences: Development of the Philippine implementation model for chronic pain management program; (2) Ms. Paulin Grace Morato – Espino, MA SpEd, PhD (Cand) for her research, “Teachers as therapeutic agents after Typhoon Haiyan: The effects of play therapy on trauma symptoms and child behavior”; and (3) Ms. Jordan P. Nava, PTRP, MSPT (Cand) for the research, “Assessment tool development for a research-based community based rehabilitation program in Naga City.”

The forum highlighted faculty research presentations that aimed to provide new knowledge in the rehabilitation science professions, with focus on methods of research which may be used by other faculty and student researchers. The activity was part of the 2017 Research Fortnight organized by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation.
