The UST Atelier Alumni Association, Inc. (USTAAAI), the official alumni group of the UST College of Fine Arts and Design, staged the second installment of its Vision project series titled 鈥淰ision: Insight鈥 from July 8 to July 23 at the ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum Annex, Makati City.
Top Thomasian visual artists joined the group exhibit, namely, Manny Baldemor, Andres Barrioquinto, Remy Boquiren, Richard Buxani, Salvador Ching, Fil Delacruz, Anita del Rosario, Edgar Doctor, Elmer Dumlao, Jun Impas, Raul Isidro, Edgar Lantin, Justin Nuyda, Ramon Orlina, Marcelino Rodriguez, and Dominic Rubio. The exhibit was curated by prolific painter and printmaker Janos Delacruz.
Present during the opening and ribbon-cutting event was Hon. Grace Poe-Llamanzares as the guest-of-honor.
鈥淎rt always appreciates not just in value but in memories and history,鈥 said Poe in her welcome remarks. The senator, who was exposed to the arts at a young age, pointed out its importance in showcasing the story of one鈥檚 country through museums and exhibits. She encouraged the patrons and guests to invest in the arts for its perpetuity.
Spearheaded by USTAAAI President Marissa Pe Yang, the association continues its commitment in promoting and supporting Thomasian artists and all their artistic endeavors. Through Atelier鈥檚 projects such as the recently concluded Outstanding Atelier Alumni Honors and Vision series, Pe Yang aims to inspire fellow Thomasian art professionals and students to follow their own creative journey.
Vision series started in 2021 providing an avenue and platform for Thomasian artists during the pandemic. The third installment called 鈥淰ision: Propel鈥 is set to launch this August 2023 at the Art Anton Gallery, Pasay City.
